Tights are always in trend during the fall and winter seasons, and we at Hosieree.com want to break down the tight do’s and don’ts to make sure your looks are on point for 2015! There are a ton of different ways to wear tights, and we don’t want you to shy away from tights due to fashion intimidation. A few tight fashion do’s and don’ts you can follow for a flawless look anytime are:

• Do go with colors – Tights come in every color of the rainbow, so don’t always stick to black. If you’re just beginning in tight looks, black may be the safe place for you to start, but you can always branch out into different colors to play around with your looks. One great rule to follow is to stick with darker tones if you’re going with color, as this will allow you to avoid the more childish tight look in favor of something more age-appropriate! 

• Don’t break out the socks – Layering is fun, and layering patterned tights with knee high socks and booties is a big lower-half layering trend this season, but you can’t just pair your tights with any old socks. Ankle socks with lace or details should be left out of the equation when you’re planning to wear a look with tights. 

• Don’t go with the grunge look – Ripped up tights might have a place in the fashion world, but very few can pull them off, so it’s best to avoid the hole-y and ripped up tight look. What you’re going for is edge, but what is most often achieved is a sloppy look you should want to avoid. • Do use tights to tone it down – If you’re wearing a particularly bright dress or skirt, you can use grey or black opaque tights to tone down your outfit and bring it back to a quieter place. This is an excellent method to use if you’re wearing a colorblock look that utilizes brighter tones, but you don’t want to look too overdone.
